North Shore Sunday
Laura, her roommate Natasha, Natasha’s friend Annie and I went up to the North Shore on Sunday. I love how peaceful it is up there. =)
When I got to Laura and Natasha’s house, they were watching “Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe,” much to my delight. I love that show. About 15 minutes later, Annie arrived with her SUV and our journey to the North Shore commenced.
Our first stop: Aoki’s for some shave ice. Mmm. I haven’t had shave ice in a long time so it was a treat. I ordered what’s called the Local Mix: mango, pineapple, and li hing mui. Anything with pineapple and I’m set! I just find it strange that the color of the pineapple syrup is blue. Hmm.
After chowing down on huli huli chicken (yum!), we went over to the North Shore Marketplace for coffee (they ordered some, I didn’t) and trinket browsing. There were some notable homemade lotions that smelled pretty good. While waiting outside for Annie and Natasha, Laura and I witnessed three little chicks looking for their mommy in the parking lot! Awww.
We then made our way to Laniakea Beach, known for sunbasking Hawaiian green turtles. Afterward, we went to Waimea Bay. I didn’t bring my swimsuit or spare clothes (genius) and am not that great of a swimmer, so I stayed on the shore and got my bottom half wet. After the sun had set, we went back to the North Shore Marketplace and ate dinner at Cholo’s. Laura, Natasha and I got burritos and I believe Annie got a tortilla dish.
All in all, it was fun times. And of course, I took pictures (with my iPhone)!

Good to know.

Honey girls… get it?

The chicks! Cuuute.

I’m almost as tall as this tiki. Almost.
