One of the first things people usually ask me about when they meet me is my name. Well, I was born on the Fourth of July. (I still haven’t seen that movie.) Born and raised on O‘ahu, Hawai‘i, I’m blessed with an awesome family and small network of friends who keep me grounded. I graduated from Hawai‘i Pacific University in May 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising. I oversee website projects at Makaha Studios, a small video and Web production company based in Wai‘anae, on O‘ahu’s west coast.

I have always loved music, apparently ever since I was in my mom’s womb. Muse and Franz Ferdinand are my top two favorite bands. I’ve seen them live twice each, and met members from each band. My all-time favorite band is Beastie Boys. I started listening to them when I was 12, have also seen them live, and credit them for my fervent interest in music today. I lean heavy on alternative rock, but I listen to some hip-hop, pop, indie, movie soundtracks, classical, and electronic music, as well.

I also play the piano. I’d like to say that I’ve been playing since I was 12 years old, but really, I started lessons at 12, quit at 16, and just recently started playing again. In other words, I’m not that good. But I love it. And as cheesy as this may sound, Matt Bellamy from Muse was my inspiration (my… muse?) to start playing again.

My other pastimes all involve some sort of technology, whether it’s on the Web, with a camera, or in Photoshop. I’m a bit geeky like that.
